Natty (Natural), Orange, Amber, Skin contact, what does it all mean?
When making these varieties, they go back to the roots of all wine making. Basically, the grapes are left to ferment and relax for a select period of time with the skins, seeds and sometimes even the stems. Where in traditional processing for white wines, these are removed. More skin contact, equals a darker colour.
Many different grape varieties are used within this branch of wines, more commonly used are aromatics such as Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer and Moscato Giallo.
